FROSTBERRY hat is knitted from the brim to the crown and features a floral motif created by simple cables, elongated slipped stitches and nupps. The hat is graded for 3 sizes, so you have a little room to play with your yarn thickness and gauge.

SIZING

Finished hat circumference 41 (46.5) 52.5 cm / 16.5 (18.5) 21 inches (washed and lightly blocked, but not stretched) to fit head circumference of 43-47 (48-54) 55-60.5 cm / 17.25–18.75 (19.25–21.5) 22–24.25 inches

Versions 1 (single brim): Dehesa la Rinconada from Wooldreamers, 3 ply woolen spun 100% Spanish organic merino wool, 100 grams - 230 meters / 252 yards. The sample is made with col. Mostaza – Granito
Version 2 (light beige double brim): Alba DK from Uist wool, 2 ply 100% wool (Cheviot, Shetland and Manx Loaghtan), 100 grams – 235 meters / 257 yards
Version 3 (chocolate brown double brim): 100% European Merino yarn from Purewol, 2 ply, 100 grams – 275 meters / 301 yards

YARN SUBSTITUTION
DK weight yarn to achieve gauge. Choose 3-ply rounder yarn for a more pronounced pattern (as in Version 1) and 2-ply (as in Versions 2 and 3) for a more delicate look

Yardage is given for a double (folded) brim version and includes extra yarn for swatching. Please note that your actual yarn consumption will depend on your yarn choice, gauge, the length of your finished hat and any other alterations you might make to the pattern.

GAUGE
24 sts / 34 rnds per 10 cm / 4 inches in reverse stockinette in the round on size B needles after washing and light blocking (not stretched).

NEEDLES
● Size A Circular needles – 2.75 mm (US 2) for tubular cast on and ribbing
● Size B Circular needles – 3.25 mm (US 3) or other to achieve gauge in reverse stockinette pattern in the round
Please note that needle size is just a suggestion, you might need to change the size of your needles to achieve gauge.
